Today was a great change. We relocated today trying to find fresh batch of tuna. We found a few with some gaffer dolphin, and marlin mixed in with it. We trolled for less than an hour this morning hanging a gaffer to get the skunk out of the box. Not long after that we had a blue marlin pop out our right flat big bait moving quickly to the left flat tuna bait. It was so fast we tried him on the tuna bait not able to switch to the bigger one. Chris dropped back and hooked him. The blue wasn’t hooked 30 seconds before he chaffed off. What a let down. We collected ourselves and set back out catching a gaffer along. It was a little after lunch when we all of a sudden we got crushed by the 35# yellowfin catching 5/8. What a surprise that was we circled around for a while with no more love. Still catching an occasional gaffer dolphin. It was getting close to time when we had a white marlin come up and chase after a flat line. He came up strong but fell back fast just following the boat for about 5 mins never eating anything. Another big bummer but it was great to see him. It just goes to show you you truly never know what’s going to happen to you out of Oregon Inlet. Our June is just about full if you want get in onto some of the fun call me (252)305-7960.
