Today was a nice day on the ocean we had clear skies light winds and it wasn’t overly hot. The fishing was a little slow though. We caught a few dolphin first thing this morning on a beautiful grass line that should have had the mother load. Fishing behind a bunch of boats the fish that were on it got caught or hair lipped real quick. We got off of the line to look for a tuna or even a marlin. The boats that set out for a tuna first had had a few bites. We trolled to them not having any luck. There was a boat that was 5 miles above us and was having some pretty decent marlin action. So we kept going to the north. We got up close to him and had a mystery bite that the leader came back all chaffed up. We circled around for a little bit and raised a blue marlin about 150#. He came up on the left flat and was real jacked up. Jason picked up the TLD and dropped back. Hooked Up Blue Marlin! We cleared the spread and started to back down on him. 10 minutes later we caught him. We set back out and trolled the rest of the afternoon to catch a few more dolphin. At the end of the day we had a blue one and 15 dolphin gaffer and bailers mixed. Pretty day a few meat fish and a nice blue marlin center piece. Just right looking forward to tomorrow.
