Today was a awesome day. It was the first day that my little brother Aaron had ever mated for me. We set out this morning looking for a dolphin but the water conditions had changed and there wasn’t a grass line to fish on. So right out of the gate we had to go to plan B. We set out a mix trolling spread looking for anything. We started trolling up the line. After an hour of trolling we hook our first fish a white marlin. We fought him for a while, but we finally got him. We set back and not to long after hook and catch a sail. Then catch a wahoo. We set back and troll for a long time before hooking a pair of gaffers one of them a really nice one. We catch them both. Set back and almost immediately after hook another sail but he pulled off. Kinda bummed about the loss we continue on circling the area hoping for another bite, and we get it. This time a triple of sails that we get all of them. Really pumped we get set out again see a white marlin that wouldn’t eat. We trolled the area and hook another sail and catch him. There were a couple boats that had some tuna bites just above us so we eased that way. Getting to them we hooked 4 tunas and held onto only one of them. Still nice to have the one. Set back and circle not even a whole circle and we hooked another sail. We caught him pretty quick. We spent the rest of the afternoon looking and hoping but didn’t have anymore bites till we were cranking everything up. We had our short rigger 80 come out and pull alot of drag, but it was only a wahoo about a 25#. We were hoping it was our blue marlin but still happy for the fish. That was a great way to finish up a fun day. We ended up with 1 white marlin 5 sails 2 gaffers 2 wahoos and a tuna.
